Course Description: Construction of single-family, detached homes is quite a process. From planning to application to execution to inspection, there are many steps along the way. Like a dance, a beautiful performance comes from smooth steps timed by everyone in the group. Mutual understanding and respect for each professional involved and a good grasp of the choreography helps ensure no one trips up. Learn the steps of building a new home in this unique class. No formal wear required!

About our Presenter: Glenn Mathewson
Glenn Mathewson started in construction as a laborer in the late 90’s and he is now a professional building code educator, consultant, and the recipient of the 2021 ICC Educator of the Year Award. He’s authored over 100 articles in multiple trade journals, his own regular column in Fine Homebuilding Magazine, and the ICC book Deck Construction based on the IRC, (2009 & 2021). He’s represented the North American Deck and Railing Association in deck code development for the last decade. Registration Information: All attendees shall receive a CEU certificate following the course. CEU's will be reported to ICC for WICED of TX members only.
*WICED of TX members who have paid for their 2023 or 2024 WICED of TX membership on or before December 15, 2023. Those who wish to join WICED of TX after December 15, 2023 shall pay the non-member price and receive 1 year of membership for 2024. No refunds are available if membership and course registration are purchased separately.
**Non-member fee also applies to any member who joined after December 15, 2023. Non-members will receive 1 year free membership active from the date of payment through December 31, 2024. A membership form will be sent following registration to collect information required for membership, with the annual fee waived. The free membership is not transferable to another person. No discount is offered should the course attendee elect to OPT-OUT of membership. No refunds are available if membership and course registration are purchased separately. Should a course attendee be unable to attend the course and require a refund for the course amount, the free membership will be cancelled. The course attendee may still join as a member separately for the regular membership fee of $35.
